WHO WE ARE
THE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES FRAMEWORK IS AN INITIATIVE OF THE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES CORPORATION (SCC), A 501(c)(4) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES THROUGH SUPPORT OF LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES, WITH A FOCUS ON CAPITAL AND CREDIT ISSUES.
ADDRESSING WEALTH & INCOME INEQUALITY
More wealth has now become concentrated in the hands of the elite than in the years leading up to the stock market crash of 1929.
Much has been written about this phenomenon, but solutions have been in short supply. Many feel so much power concentrated in so few hands leave the rest of us powerless. We believe otherwise! Resources reside in the “wealth of the commons,” our natural and human resources. The key is figuring out ways to redeploy those resources to directly benefit society and the planet.

The current system can survive only if we keep feeding it. By turning our energies in other directions, we can fundamentally change the world for the better.
The futurist Buckminster Fuller famously said “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a NEW model that makes the existing model obsolete.” We at the SCC have taken his words to heart.
We started with the belief that small businesses and their communities are the backbone of national identity.
We have spent the past decade exploring ways to enhance the flow of capital and credit to those entities, diving deep into banking, securities and the institutions and laws that govern them. You can see the results of our work in the Research section.
Our analyses ultimately challenged the nature of money itself and the shortcomings of the existing monetary system. We developed a new system that harnesses the successes of time-tested methods but utilizing leading technology in ways that wrest control from global banks, putting the power of money back into the hands of those it serves. Read about our discoveries and conclusions in the Money section.
Today we have unprecedented tools for collective efforts. We have the power to quickly and dramatically reshape the world in a more positive way for all of us.
The Sustainable Communities Framework provides the practical tools for communities to take action in defense of their future..
RICHEST 1% ON TARGET TO OWN TWO-THIRDS OF ALL WEALTH BY 2030
Since 2008, the wealth of the richest 1% has been growing at an average of 6% a year – double the 3% growth in wealth of the remaining 99%.
Should that continue, the top 1% would hold wealth equating to $305 trillion – up from $140 trillion today.
