National Commonwealth Group (NCG) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1999. 

Its founders share a belief in the importance of small and mid-size business to healthy communities and robust economies, and in the necessity for economic development efforts to embrace and advance sustainability and the triple bottom line.

NCG operated as a think tank until 2018, when its development of the Sustainable Communities Framework led to a pivot toward action and implementation.

NCG is now focused on launching the Sustainable Communities Framework in Puerto Rico, with a view to replicating the program in other depressed economies nationwide and around the world.
